Ward Might – Virtues Of Virtuality – Tuesday, 14 December 2021, 17:30-18:30 via Zoom

We had high hopes for a Ward Might that the Drapers’ Company had kindly agreed to host for the neighbours, “Behind The Curtains At Drapers’ Hall”, with a light reception and tour of the Hall.  Sadly, Covid-19 restrictions put an end to that for now.  Meanwhile, in a spirit of Broad Street Ward resilience, we moved online with the following agenda:

17:30 – “What Could The ‘City of London’ Ever Do For Me? or How Can I Drive Sheep Across London Bridge?” briefing by Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli

17:55 – Commentaries from Deputy John Scott, John Bennett, and Christopher Hayward CC

18:10 – Question and answer session

18:30 – Close

Discussion was wide-ranging given the infinity of possibilities ahead, from the forthcoming March elections, to Bank junction, to the future of the City as a financial centre.

The slide deck for the meeting has now been posted – Broad Street Ward Might 2021.12.14 v1.0.  We do look forward to next March’s traditional Ward Mote, at Furniture Makers’ Hall at noon on Wednesday, 23 March 2022.
